Freja Beha Erichsen is on the cover of the August edition of British Vogue and rightly so. Originally from Denmark, Erichsen debuted as a model in ’05 at fall Paris and Milan fashion weeks shows of Prada, LV, and Miu Miu. Today she walks in many major cities and has a slew of advertising campaigns.
Erichsen also has pretty great style – check out some photos of her on and off the runway below.

There is a fantastic article today on online-fashion-magazine The Business of Fashion that discusses the new trend within brands to open up men’s only flagships. Large fashion houses such as Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Tod’s and Jimmy Choo have all hopped on the bandwagon designing experiences for men built somewhat like old-world British gentlemen’s clubs.
It’s an interesting move, however in most companies womenswear still contributes significantly more to overall profits. Whether or not companies receive a significant return on investment on these elaborate menswear stores will be something to watch in the next few seasons.
One thing from the States that is definitely missed here in Milan is being able to shop at J.Crew from their own website and not 3rd party sites like Net-A-Porter. For many speculated reasons J.Crew has yet to open up a physical store in the whole of Europe. It was rumored they were to open a boutique in London last fall, but they chose to enter the Asian market instead.
Even an online presence in Europe was lacking until now. J.Crew now allows Europeans to shop in their own currency, buy directly from the website with no extra custom charge and a standard shipping rate; and in perfect time too, there’s nothing better than some new preppy J.Crew threads for summer. Let the shopping begin!
